Notice: Lake Carl Blackwell / Covid-19 Coronavirus Information

  • Due to the Covid-19 (Coronavirus) and recommendations from the Center for Disease Control, OSU and the City of Stillwater, the indoor fishing dock at Lake Carl Blackwell will be closed to the public. We will allow fishing from the outside of the dock as long as patrons practice the recommended social distancing of six feet.  We will monitor the situation and when it is safe to do so we will reopen the indoor fishing dock.  We are sorry for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.   • Effective until further notice, swimming beaches at Lake Carl Blackwell are closed.   
  • Additionally, we are following CDC and OSU endorsed guidelines that prohibit gatherings of more than 10 people. This will be enforced by Lake Carl Blackwell staff and OSU Police. Violation will result in removal from the lake.  Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Fact Sheet: Yellow Floating Heart

Oklahoma State University is taking steps to control an invasive lily species, Yellow Floating Heart, that is spreading at Lake Carl Blackwell. Spot-treatment of a species-selective herbicide will begin July 9 and will conclude by July 12 or before.

We will try to reschedule the event for later in the summer or fall depending on developments with Covid-19 (Coronavirus) and gatherings of over 10 people. 

Please note our equestrian trails are open here at LCB and we encourage you to come out to ride and get some fresh air.

Lake Carl Blackwell is a mid-sized lake of 3,350 acres, located 8 miles west of Stillwater on Highway 51. There is an abundance of fishing, boating, swimming, water skiing and camping but we also have hunting, equestrian trail riding, hiking, and an on-water fuel dock.
