Purple Sandpiper

Bird Watchers are flocking to Lake Carl Blackwell to get glimpse of the Purple Sandpiper (Rock Sandpiper of the East). Normally a resident of the east coast this bird has found its way to Stillwater Oklahoma Lake Carl Blackwell. Best location for viewing the Purple Sandpiper is along the shoreline just North of the Lake Side Store.

Remember to stop by the store to pick up your Park Day Permit that allows access to Lake Carl Blackwell from 8 AM to 10 PM.

 

Trout Fishing

Trout season will begin on November 1, 2012 and continue through April 1, 2013 with bi-weekly stocking. LCB access permit and additional $5.00 trout fishing permit are required. A three fish per day limit has also been established. Children under 9 fish for free.

General Information

Lake Carl Blackwell is a mid-sized lake of 3,350 acres, located 8 miles west of Stillwater on Highway 51. There is an abundance of fishing, boating, swimming, water skiing and camping but we also have hunting, equestrian trail riding, hiking, and an on-water fuel dock. Stop by our convenience store and stock up on food, fishing tackle, camping supplies, and a wide variety of other items.
